- Who is Own Your Own ISP©?
Own Your Own ISP© is an energetic Internet Services wholesaler committed to Building Better ISPs® and making you successful as an ISP. For more detailed information, check our our History and Executive Summary.
- How much does the service cost?
Our ISP Startup Package has a one-time start-up fee of $995 plus $500 for network deposits for 50 users. This fee provides the ISP with full access to all existing and future VISP sites and future software updates. Monthly fees are charged on a per account basis.
- Do I need any equipment?
No. Your license of ISP in a Box® and your existing computer are all you need to be an ISP.
- When do I pay for my accounts?
You simply pay for services as you use them during the month. On the last day of the month you will need to have enough money in your account to cover the estimated cost for wholesale services for the following month.
- What happens to my subscriber's online payments?
Any online payments from your subscribers will automatically be credited to your account with Own Your Own ISP©. Their payment information is immediately displayed in your ISP billing system so you only need to pay the amount you owe and don't need to maintain unnecessary deposits.
- How does email work?
Every one of your Internet customers will have an email address (with your domain name for Private Label). You will also be able to offer web-based email for your customers who are on the go.
- Whose DNS is used for the dial-up User?
You will be using Own Your Own ISP© Branded DNS for your customers
- How do I create an account for my customer?
All you do is startup ISP in a Box® management software, enter your customer’s details and click the Activate button. From there you can easily suspend, unsuspended, change username, change password, change networks, invoice and bill, and delete customers in seconds.
- Is service unlimited?
We offer every network possible so that you can service most of the USA. Some network providers impose limits that range from 150 to 400 hours to unlimited hours per month. The average Internet user is online less than 40 hours a month and less than one user in one hundred will exceed 150 hours, but for those users who do, you have many network options to keep ALL your users happy.

Own Your Own ISP© maintains direct, high-bandwidth circuits to the homes of each of our three administrators, who can quickly remotely connect and control all core servers. They are literally seconds away anytime of the day or night. Our active uptime monitoring systems notify administrators even before a user experiences a problem so that you can count on such reliable service and support, that even though Emergency After Hours Service is available, it’s virtually never needed.
Below are visp.net’s emergency after hours support instructions from our Support Site:
| Visp Technologies Emergency Outage Procedure |
(Be sure to print this document and keep it handy as you may not be able to access it in the event of an outage!)
- Verify the problem: Verify the problem by using your own account to attempt to duplicate the problem. If a customer is reporting an authentication problem, then you should dialup to the same location they are dialing using your own username and password. If you experience the same problem, then there may be a server-side problem.
- Contact Visp: Our staff needs to know exactly what the problem is and what you did to verify it. Be prepared to provide as much detail as possible to ensure the problem gets resolved quickly.

- Here’s what you’ll hear when you call:
“Emergency after hours support is available at no charge for Mission-Critical, server-side issues affecting more than one customer. Mission critical issues include failure of authentication, web access, email, or web hosting. By paging an on-call system administrator for issues that are not Mission-Critical as we’ve defined here, you agree to pay up to 150 dollars per hour for after hours support. If you understand and agree to these terms, press 1 to be transferred to an on-call system administrator. Otherwise, press 2 or stay on the line to leave a voicemail for our support staff, who will return your call at the start of the next business day. To return to the main menu press 3. Thank you.”
